Histamine, Allergies, CIRS, MCAS and Reactivity
Adjusting, adapting and healing in uncertain times
I’ve had a lot of clients lately reaching out to work with me on histamine intolerance and allergy issues. It’s finally Spring in the Northern hemisphere and a lot of us are dealing with recurring allergies and sensitivities. I personally know how debilitating this can be, trying to navigate everyday life with a head full of fogginess and the lack of sleep that comes from the adrenaline and cortisol dysregulation from overactive systems.
A lot of us have the idea or notion that these symptoms stem from a dysregulated or overburdened immune systems, causing a heightened reaction to a stimulus in the environment. While that is partially true, in my epidemiological experience working with hundreds of clients, I’ve seen that there might be a bigger story to these symptoms and reactions.
With all of my clients I tend to look at both the physical body and the emotional/spiritual. From a physical body standpoint we want to be looking at mitochondrial function and environmental stimuli synching, regulating and creating an orderly response. This ties into your local environment and how much you are participating in it physically. Temperature, food, light, sound, grounding and movement are all a part of creating a high redox and high electron potential body. The more we tie ourselves into our local environments the less adaptation, symptoms we have and the better our mitochondria function and better we feel and more energy we make.
